Author Note
I went to Taco Bell right before the diarrhea food borne illness outbreak was on the news. I thought this didn’t affect anything, but I think it is pretty funny.
Encharito
I did not think I would like the encharito. Looking at the picture I thought it would be nasty and I wouldn’t normally order it. For the price and size l, this item was a steal and I actually really liked it. The red sauce is exactly what you would expect for an enchilada and had a good balance of TB spice blend taste with a strong tomato flavor. However it wasn’t over or underpowered by the beans and beef. It was very well balanced flavor wise. Surprisingly I didn’t feel like this was super heavy. I definitely felt full and satisfied, but I also didn’t feel like I needed a nap after eating it. This reminded me a lot of the chili cheese burrito (RIP I miss you). The tortilla, beef, cheese, and tomato sauce produce a similar product. I still prefer the CCB, but I would get this again if I found myself in the store again before the end of the experience. I know this is an old item returning, but is definitely the vibe I like to see TB bringing to the LTOs. I don’t mind the revival of old items, but new innovation is even better.
Fajita Street Chalupas
I don’t like the street chalupas. This is like the 4th or 5th iteration and it is not very good. I like the fajita veggies, but there are so many better ways to pull them off. I feel like I saw a test item that was little fajita tacos and that sounds way better. These somehow don’t taste like much. Likely a symptom of having so little filling for the amount of shell. I will say that when I was trying to get a picture of the filling of how dry the chicken was, an employee came over to make sure the food was ok. I have a really great local Taco Bell that always has the consistently best quality food of any of the locations I have frequented. The employees here are great and during my time on this visit I could hear a manager training a new employee in the back and she seemed like a joy to work for. Great managers are hard to come by and it’s probably what makes my TB so great.
Chicken Fajita Nacho Fries
On my visit to TB this time I got normal nacho fries (as I do) which were delicious, but I am not wasting my money on this loaded BS.
